Apr 30, 1962 — Dec 16, 2024
Regina Annette Gayfield Thompson was born on April 30, 1962, in Little Rock, Arkansas to her loving parents, O. G. and Hazel Gayfield. She was raised in Eudora, Arkansas where she cultivated lifelong memories and friendships. Regina passed away on December 2, 2024. A proud graduate of Eudora High School, Class of 1980, Regina embraced life with an infectious spirit and unwavering determination.
Regina accepted Christ at a young age at Zion Chapel M.B. Church where her faith became a cornerstone of her life. In 1982, Regina completed her certification at Bryman Nursing School as a medical student. She began her career as an administrative supervisor, eventually joining the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
In 1988, Regina welcomed her daughter, Cameron Annette Thompson, into the world. As a devoted mother, she poured her love, energy, and creativity into raising Cameron in Houston, Texas.
Never one to be limited by circumstance, Regina achieved her Bachelor of Arts from Ashford University in Early Childhood Education 2015 and quickly pursued and obtained her Master's degree—all while being blind. Her perseverance and dedication to learning were a testament to her indomitable spirit.
Regina's life was beacon of strength, love, and creativity. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Cameron and son-in-law Lennon Deckard, as well as by her sister Linda Gayfield and her brother Louis Gayfield.
