Obituary

Jarrod Dion "Duk" Toney, 58, of Eudora, Arkansas passed away on September 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born April 3, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois to J. C. Clay and Pearlie Toney.

Jarrod confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at New Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Montgomery.

Jarrod graduated from Eudora High School in 1985 and went on to lead a fulfilling life.  Jarrod was called to the Ministry in 2005 under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Tate at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death.  He was known for his kind and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  Jarrod was known for his rich baritone voice and for singing one of his favorite songs, 'I Won't Complain'.

His warm smile and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jarrod leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Jarrod was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was preceded in death by his father J. C. Clay, brothers John Clay and Bruce Raggs and his wife Tina Toney.

He is survived by his mother Pearlie Evans; his daughters Jolaquise Lester and Precious Toney; sons Jarrod Toney, Jr. and Reginal Terrell; brothers Eric Toney, Martrell Raggs, Donnel Raggs, Bryan Raggs, Michael Clay and Lucky Evans; sisters Tasha Clay, Tiffany Clay, Veronica Alfred and Toney Evans.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Ministers Institute in Eudora, AR with Reverend David L. Toney officiating. The burial was at the Masons Cemetery.  Active pallbearers were David Ruffin, Calvin Lee, David Ingraham, Marquis Jones, Dan Pride and Marco Toney.  Honorary pallbearers were Eric Toney, Lucky Evans, Darrell Toney, Robet Toney, Kenneth Toney and Martrell Ragg
